Cairo,(insidesomalia.org)- The Arab ministerial committee on Somalia met in Cairo on Tuesday, chaired by the Secretary-General of the Arab League Amr Moussa to discuss recent developments in Somalia.
The committee launched an urgent appeal to Arab organizations to send urgent relief aid to the Somali people, including medicine and food.
The Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ambassador Ahmed Ben Hali told reporters that the committee had also discussed matters concerning the agreement in Djibouti regarding Somali reconciliation.
The Committee stressed the necessity of implementing the terms of this agreement, he said, pointing out that there was a meeting of a technical committee to be held in Djibouti from 19th September to discuss the issue.
Ben Hali noted that the committee appealed to the various Somali factions that did not sign the agreement to join the march for reconciliation.
The member states of the committee are Egypt, Yemen, Libya, Oman, Algeria, Saudi Arabia and Sudan.
